Atupele Muluzi Urges Hope Amidst Economic Challenges

In a heartfelt address at the Chilundu cultural fundraising event held at Zomba Cathedral, Atupele Muluzi, President of the United Democratic Front (UDF), called on Malawians to remain hopeful and resilient despite ongoing economic challenges. Muluzi emphasized the importance of visionary and committed leadership to guide Malawi towards its development goals.

The event aimed to raise funds for the Catholic Women’s Association under the Zomba Diocese, with Muluzi donating MK5 million to support the cause. The association seeks to raise K60 million to purchase a 40-seater bus to address transportation issues and promote the women’s ministry. Christina Lakiyoni, Chairperson of the Catholic Women’s Association, expressed gratitude for Muluzi’s contribution, highlighting the significant impact the bus would have on spreading the word of God across the diocese.

Bishop Alfred Mateyu Chaima also spoke at the event, urging the faithful to live balanced lives rooted in honesty, love, and generosity. He stressed the importance of spiritual and social harmony in navigating the nation’s challenges.

This event underscores the critical role of community support and leadership in overcoming economic difficulties and fostering hope and resilience among Malawians.
